Take the confusion out of worming

EQUIMAX, as unique as your horse

EQUIMAX unique protection

Equimax is licensed to kill round worms, all three species of tapeworms and bots in a single dose.

It contains tried and trusted ivermectin for routine worm control, with praziquantel, one of the most effective tapeworm treatments. Equimax can be used every year, at the start and end of grazing season to provide maximum control against roundworms, tapeworms and bots in the spring and autumn, ensuring your horse starts and ends the year as free as possible from worm infection.

Multiple dosing, a thing of the past

It takes two or three doses of seperate wormer products to control as many worms as Equimax does in one. With Equimax, multiple dosing is a thing of the past.

ERAQUELL strength and power

A tried and trusted ivermectin wormer. No other wormer ingredient controls more roundworms and bots than ivermectin. Eraquell is an important part of your stategic worming programme, providing unsurpassed control of roundworms during summer grazing.

Safe and sure

Both Equimax and Eraquell have been tested and licensed for safety and efficacy and therefore can be used in all horses including pregnant mares, stallions and foals.

Equimax and Eraquell are both safe to use in all horses and ponies including young foals. Equimax may be used in foals from 2 weeks old. Trials have shown no adverse effects when 5 x the normal dose was given.

Easy dosing

Equimax and Eraquell are both supplied in the unique Virbac Dosing tube for easier handling and accurate dosing. Plus their smooth paste formulation ensures the product slides freely from the tube to the back of the tongue.

A dosing applicator that fits your needs - dosing couldn't be easier...

Equimax and Eraquell are presented in a unique dosing tube that has many special features to help you minimise waste and make worming easier:

  • Smooth, paste formulation slides freely from the tube to the back of the tongue and down the throat
  • Curved finger grip and plunger for surer handling
  • Short body suits even the smallest hands
  • Robust lockable dose adjuster for ease and accuracy
  • Clear, large print dosing scale on both sides for right or left handed use
  • Large wing-cap for quick, single handed removal

The importance of worming

A regular worming programme is an essential part in your routine horse care to control the worm population and safeguard against the associated health risks such as colic, diarrhoea, loss of condition or poor performance. All horses become infected with worms to some extent, and to keep your horse's burden to a minimum you should plan to worm throughout the grazing season. Research has shown that 70% of horses in the UK may be infected with roundworms, tapeworms, or both.

Tapeworm infection can be a significant risk factor for spasmodic and surgical (ileal impaction and intussusception) colic. Treatment of horses with Equimax has been shown to significantly reduce the risk of tapeworm associated colic. Equimax and Eraquell - simply easy worming...advanced protection for your horse.

700kg EQUIMAX and ERAQUELL syringes

With an extra 100kg of horse treatment  in every Equimax and Eraquell syringe, they are even better value than ever. If your horse weighs up to 700kg you can now provide effective protection with just a single syringe.

It is important to check the bodyweight that the wormer you are using treats. The majority of syringes treat up to 600kgs, however some i.e. moxidectin treats less than this.

Strategic worming programme

Less worming - better protection

Equimax is licensed to kill roundworms, all three species of tapeworms and bots in a single dose. When used in spring and autumn to treat tapeworm infections, the same tube also treats bots and all major roundworms. This reduces the number of annual wormer treatments necessary, making worming more simple and cost effective, but also helping to prevent resistance.

Eraquell is the optimum worming ingredient for all-round control of roundworms and bots. Use at 8 - 10 week intervals throughout the grazing season to treat your horse against roundworm infections.

Equimax and Eraquell effectively control the adult and non-inhibited immature stages of the small redworm, but you should give an appropriate treatment for encysted small redworms over the winter.
